About Me!
Hi! My name is Chloe Powell and I am currently a student at Boa Stage and Screen Production Academy. I am fascinated by the arts, and the effect that it can have on a person - and a society. Through acting and the creation of film, I would like to produce art that challenges, impresses and extends the mind. Therefore, I am driven to pursue a career in acting and directing - putting on a show that makes people feel just as amazing as watching it makes me feel!
I specialise in Theatre (favourably following a Shakespearean theme), Acting for screen and Directing. In the past, I have performed in the Belgrade Theatre with Freeman Dance and done a few shows through Bluecoat School Theatre, such as "Grease", "Hamilton" and "Dear Evan Hansen" - one of my favourites being a performance of "Merchant of Venice" where I played the villainous character of "Shylock" at The Dell in Stratford. Regarding film, I have been a supporting actor on 'All that Glitters', supported a directing workshop with the Award-Winning Film Director Daniel Alexander and worked on numerous projects within College. I worked as a First AD with the BFI Academy, creating a short film with fellow film-makers. In College, I took on the role of Senior 4 'Head of Equality and Diversity', exercising my leadership, organisation and creative ability. This required me to plan events (Pride Parade and Culture Day), be a safe space for my peers and be an ambassador for the College. On the side, I enjoy playing drums, taking part in extra-curricular events at college, learning random skills (like the yo-yo) and socialising with new people at events like concerts, all whilst striving to turn this dream into a reality.
